Sovay Berriman
Artist
Falmouth, Cornwall

Sovay Berriman’s work is rooted in her experience of being Cornish, she is aware of her culture’s shifting identity, and the mutability of a sense of place.

Sovay has exhibited widely across the UK, and worked with a number of projects and institutions developing commissions and participatory works. Most recently she has worked with Cultivator Cornwall co-producing the symposium, Common Place: art, community & social change, and with artist Sara Bowler building the project Agile Structures. Sovay’s current studio work considers the intimacy and boundaries of touch and labour, and where choice in relation to these lies.

Mary Paterson wrote about Sovay Berriman in an Essay titled ‘Everyday Constellations
